Op: Cashflow Q&A Thread
« on: July 08, 2010, 03:25:38 PM »
Sorry this was not posted sooner, what can I say, Email is not the same in  South Africa as it is in the states, I think they still deliver it by elephant.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This Game is unlike any normal Scenario OP or Milsim game. We are allowing your villages to pretty much decide for themselves how they are going to play, and when they are gonna do what.  As a result of this new game style, there are several rules concerning the roles of each faction, please read them over thoroughly so you know what is going on,, If you have a question, Ask away. It really isn't all that complicated. Even though it is a bit of reading.

Game  Factions

2 village factions who are blood enemy's with each other.
2 small mercenary squads ( or more )
2 Small role play squads ( or more )

Village Objectives

1 Find hidden resources and hold them, Holding a resource for 10 minutes will win you money. ( water, iron, gold, tin, copper, coal, all with different cash values.) These resources will be guarded and ultimately fought over by the villages

2 Looting the enemy villages for funds. Wiping and holding a enemy base for 10 minutes wile your forces loot the village will earn your team money. You must vacate the base after 10 minutes, and a village can not be looted again until 1 hour after it has be reoccupied by its original owners. The amount of the payout will be determined by the banker and paid in the cantina after confirmation.

3 Locate and hire mercenary's to help your village complete its tasks.

4 End the day with as much cash as possible to pay for the winters food storage and supplies. village with the most cash, ( after fines ) wins the villager side of this game

Loosing possession of your village will cost your village a fine of 40k. It is up to the team as a whole to pay this fine off at any time during the game at the cantina or, Double the fine will be deducted from your teams total cash at the end of the day.

Mercenary squads rolls

You are free to negotiate your own prices, but suggested rates are from 10-25k per half hour. Depending on the task and how good your squad is. By taking a contract you agree to do whatever you are paid to do to the best of your ability, Until the time of the contract is over. When your time is up, You bail. You may return the cantina, or wander the field looking for more work from other villages or find some trouble on your own..

1 Pick up jobs offered at the cantina by the villagers and preform them, These jobs could be anything from help take a resource, to defend my village, or wipe out a certain player . The job contracts will have a time limit, 30 minutes to 1 hour for any one contract, then you are free to seek other employment.

2 You are allowed to sell information acquired during the day to any or all villages willing to pay, You must provide accurate Intel, No false info.

3 You are allowed to double cross your employer, However, In order to do this you must be paid In Real US currency.. (under 5 bucks, negotiable ). So if you are doing a job and the enemy yells over,, Hey Merc, Ill give ya  2 bucks to abandon the contract. If you agree, You go take your money and go. Your current employer has the option to out bid the enemy attempting to buy the double cross. You will go with the highest bidder. You will not engage your previous employers unless the other team negotiates a Spartan cash deal for your services after you have been paid to do the double cross. You may not be rehired by your previous employer whom you were just paid to abandon. For 1 half hour. ALL REAL U.S.  MONEY COLLECTED WILL BE  TURNED INTO THE  BANKER AND ADDED TO THE SPARTAIN FIELD FUND!

4 Engage anyone you encounter outside the perimeter of any village, the canteen, or other base, Including other merc squads at your own discretion. You are only to engage units operating out in the open and are not allowed to assault any known base unless paid to do so. There is no financial gain for this activity, However, you can walk up on a fight, negotiate a price and reinforce your employer for the time of the contract. Or, you may also extort cash from people you encounter to leave them alone for awhile. ( half hour ) suggested price 5k spartan battle bucks per man on the merc team.

5 Collect up front for all work, No refunds, No IOU's. You will preform your job to the best of your ability, Your success or failure will affect the price a village is willing to pay you for your help. Also weather or not you are a known double crosser might affect this price if word gets out of what you have done.

6 Accumulate as much cash as possible to survive the coming winter. The mercenary team with the most cash wins the Mercenary side of this.

Role Players

This game requires a small  number of players to act as role players, these players will traverse the field and be assigned many assignments over the course of the day. Specifics of your roles will be told to you in private.

Battle Bucks!!

You can do a few things with them, But in the end, You basically want as much as possible.

1 Hire mercenary's
2 Buy Intel on resources
3 buy Intel on ongoing missions.
4 Pay extortion money or bribes.
5 Gamble

You may also flat out buy Spartan Battle Bucks at the cantina at a rate of 1 UDS to 10k SBB if you find yourself running short, Or need extra to gamble with, Or just want to make a donation to the field. All village players will start out with 1 10k Bill each.

Medic & Respawn Rules

Villagers

Every Active squad larger then 5 players may have 1 medic.
3 heals then respawn in village or cantina

If your village is under fire, You may not respawn there, You may wait for the fight to be over, or respawn at the cantina at your discretion.

Mercenaries

1 medic per squad wile employed.
3 heals then respawn at Your employers village or the cantina
Vitals when not employed with respawn at the cantina..

Role Players

Role players will run on vitals and not have a medic,
They will be invincible wile traveling to a assigned location, they will not engage unless attacked, then they will destroy any unit that opposes them as they are invincible at that time. ( hint, don't attack them in transit or try to  follow )
Role players will respawn as directed by the Game Coordinator on a case by case basis.

Card Game rules

The floating card game will be set up at unknown locations, The locations and times of the games can be leaked via radio, cantina chatter, Flat out buying it from someone, or other means.
The game will last no more then 1 half hour, and we will allow a 1 time buy in up to 100k. ( money on the table )
The game will be poker or 21 at the dealers discretion and limited to 4 player seats  per dealer. .
Squad members not playing cards, or other wise waiting for a team mate should guard the area from outside attack. Role players also not running a game will also defend the area.

Raiding a card game can only be done by Mercenaries, A merc squad must kill all people in the area to successfully raid a game, And, they must be paid to do so by one village or the other.  At the start of the raid, the dealers will pick up the pot of any game in play, and stop the game. ( game will not continue,, But you will grab any money you had on the table, not in the pot. )
If the merc force wipes the players, the dealers will give them the pot they picked up, and double it out of there bank cash. The Mercs will split the payoff with the village that hired it. If the Game manages to fend off the Merc squad, the game will still end and move to a new location at a new time. The pot will also be doubled, and equally divided to everyone that was playing at the time of the attack.

Mercs are on vitals if they attack a game, and all players and role players will only have there 1 life, no medics during a game engagement.

Bounty collection rules
Bounty's will be posted at the cantina via a wanted list, Names will be put on and taken off randomly at the coordinators discretion. Names put on the list will generally be left for a half hour to a hour, You must get your bounty to the cantina before the name is removed to get paid.
Mercenaries May be hired to hunt a bounty, or take the contract themselves. Typical reward 50k-200k depending. Wanted parties must be shot ( or surrender ) then tagged and escorted to he cantina. Other parties may try to take your bounty in transit so be careful. Bounty's will not escape unless left completely alone for more then 2 minutes. Villages may not collect a bounty on a member of there own village, or on themselves.

We will have ice cold water and a small selection of soda, as well as hot dogs and chips for as long as supplies hold out in the cantina..

Water       $1.00
Can Soda   $1.00
Hot Dog   $1.50
Chips      $0.75

ALL PROFITS TO BENIFIT THE SPARTAIN ASSAULT FIELD FUND.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, Now that you have a idea of what we are doing, I am ready to accept questions hehehe.

#1- Are the Merc squads part of any of the two villages?
#2- What are the "Role Play" squads going to be doing? Will they be able to get trigger time?
#3- What are the prices on water/hot dogs, etc?

Why do I feel stupid asking these?

#1-  No the Merc squads are teams all their own, up for hire to the highest bidder.  Spartan Battle Bucks is the currency being used to hire them. But real cash can buy a double cross or A more loyal Merc.

#2-  The "Role Play" squads keep the game going the are the "local indiginous population" and are charged with protecting the resorces found in the area.

#3-  Prices listed ( now )

#4-  There are no stupid questions ;)

the merc squad duties are to look cool....  not really.  their purpose is to be a force for hire.  If your team needs an extra boost to their firepower go hire a merc squad.  very simple.

I heard from fishman that we're using "Spartan bucks/dollars"

so fake, although, I think the food and drinks will cost actual money, mercs and stuff won't I believe.

The objective of the day is to have the most "Spartan Bucks".  However as this is a fund raising Op we need other ways to raise money, besides hotdogs and soda.  You will be paying for the merc squads with Spartan Battle Bucks , however  a Little real cash will let you buy a double cross or perhaps make your Mercs more loyal. You are allowed to barter and they will not charge you much.  A few dollars at the most when using real cash.  Hiring the Mercs is kind of a mini game of in itself.
